Brief History
What now contains the ‘community rooms’ and the office, was built in 1886 as the church. The present part which is the worship area was built in 1906. The building has been altered a number of times over the years. The Church celebrated 100 years in 2006. Methodist Worship Has took Place at the Church for 1017 years. From 6th October 2023 the building will have new owners.
Grange Road Methodist Society Hartlepool will continue sharing in worship at St George’s United Reformed Church Park Road Hartlepool.
An Ecumenical Welcome
Grange Road congregation are currently worshipping with St George’s URC. A ‘Declaration of Ecumenical Welcome’ confirming the arrangements was signed by Margaret Humberston (St George’s URC); Bev Hollings (Methodist Superintendent); Andy Lie (URC Ecumenical Officer); Bill Offler (Methodist Ecumenical Officer) and Maranny Jones Interim Moderator for the URC Northern Synod
